Reborn green
In one of the world’s oldest cities, a few hundred metres from the Olympic Stadium, a 1983 block reimagined. ART1 is a new building made from an old building, stripped back and playful.

Achieved local A+ highest energy efficiency grade
Retrofit of a former confusing muddle of awkward floorplates – rearticulated + redefined for maximum space utilisation
High-performance insulation and windows + low-energy MEP systems + integrated photovoltaic panels as part of façade
Existing luxurious black marble flooring restored + ceilings stripped back to expose original concrete framework – creating rough but refined aesthetic with minimal waste to landfill
🥦 Wellbeing
Planted roof garden + circular pergola crown the building: hosting smaller outdoor shaded working spaces, bar + large event area
Building reorientated to take advantage of its location adjacent to natural park: large openings cut into existing solid walls to open up views and bring in more natural light
Perforated red metal library – creates soft separation between a variety of different working spaces
Includes private state-of-the-art gym + showers
🎈Bonus feature
The building achieved 100% occupancy to 3 tenants before it was even completed – including leading renewables company RWE.
