🌱Sustainability

  • BREEAM Excellent

  • Part of ‘creating living environments’ scheme – formerly under-utilised plot exclusively for postal services – now x10 area utilised = efficient space utilisation for whole Amsterdam community to enjoy

  • Incorporates holistic green ecosystem by MOSS – leaders in Green Architecture + Biophilic Design = highly nature-inclusive design

  • Smart building system with proactive climate control: determines heating + cooling capacity, anticipating demand for maximum efficiency

  • Excess electricity generated stored in main latent energy storage system (LTES) = grid independence

🥦 Wellbeing

  • Opportunity for ‘walking meetings’: architecture encourages physical movement through engaging environments with stairs, bridges and galleries connecting 1st floor to rooftop

  • 28 diversely designed break-out areas: each echoing elements of exceptional travel destination (Amazon, Greek islands, Serengeti) to spark inspiration

  • Striking workplace views across the river and towards the city

  • Includes cosy mother rooms, prayer + meditation rooms

🎈Bonus feature

A rich and lively city is never the work of one architect. So, Booking.com adopted a unique, highly collaborative approach – working with 9 architects and interior designers. Not an easy task. UNStudio were the architects of the building, while HofmanDujardin established the masterplan + mood boards for the interior spaces – firms including CBRE design, i29, Linehouse, Studio Modijefsky and also UNStudio then contributed their magic to the interiors.
