🌱Sustainability
BREEAM Excellent
One of the UK’s best insulated buildings through use of 241mm deep Warmcel™ = recycled newspapers
Building raised off the ground with timber columns: minimising soil removed + cement needed during construction
100% PVC-free specification with all materials sourced from sustainable suppliers: lightweight timber box inside breathable metal skin
Materials chosen + prefabrication meant building was erected with ease and speed without need for large cranes
🥦 Wellbeing
Additional training rooms and seminar area creating a fully flexible space
Floors arranged around a central open staircase; largely open plan
Timber-decked external terraces creating a projecting curved balcony with panoramic views
🎈Bonus feature
The West façade is timber clad with Canadian Western Red Cedar. This was selected due to its natural durability and the fact it doesn’t need to be treated with preservatives. It also weathers well: the building looks more characterful over time.
