Former vinyl factory and home to Trojan Records – once epicentre of reggae music – now West London’s most creative work hub. The Gramophone Works harmonises sustainability, aesthetics, and placemaking.

  • Existing structural frame retained and adapted: expressed timber + exposed concrete columns create stripped back, rustic feel

  • Flat roofs throughout with photovoltaic panels + planting to encourage local biodiversity

  • Low energy LED lighting with sensors

  • High efficiency VRV heating + cooling system with high level of zonal control

  • 1,100 sq. ft. canal side café and bar, overlooking Grand Union Canal – creating chilled, inspiring place to work with wellbeing focus

  • Cycle Park with spaces for 90 bikes, lockers, maintenance area, and showers

  • Spacious shared reception and event space for communal gatherings

  • Floor plates ranging from 600-5,000 sq. ft – allowing maximum flexibility and accommodation for underserved SMEs


🎈Bonus feature

Old soundproofing material discovered in the basement inspired the workspace's new brand identity. Exploring theses anechoic shapes led to the creation of its dynamic prism logo – amplifying the building’s loud, creative past.
